The development of civilization laid
in human life. From prehistoric times to the present
day level of civilization reached incredible heights. But nevertheless
and now there are things unchanged for the entire period of progress. This applies to both psychological and technological state.
It is no secret that the development of civilization, its benefits are aimed at human comfort. Society inevitably sacrifices knowledge for the sake of information, and comfort in turn negatively affects health. Religion is intertwined with politics, forbidden fruits have long ceased to be secret.
What it is - a modern society, what are the signs of the 21st century, especially in daily life? To reflect this photographically is the task of this competition. The competition photos can reflect the significant events of our time, which you witnessed - no matter within your yard or country - the symbols of modernity; types in portraits of contemporaries; temporary contrasts and everything that can create a portrait of today's society.

UKRAINE. What does this word mean to me?
It's all about feelings. Feelings and emotions as a result of memories and experiences.
The picture here is timeless. Without connection with a certain place, event, time; it is an image, allegory, metaphor, symbol, hieroglyph, code.
In his minimalism portrayed the whole world with its paradoxes, absurdity and chaos.
UKRAINE. This word automatically makes me analyze: what was before and what was, how is now and what will be in the future?

Photo essay on the monks Artemieva-Verkol'skogo Monastery. Arkhangelsk region
Photo essay on the monks Artemieva-Verkol'skogo Monasteries. Arkhangelsk region
There are no daily excursions and thousands of pilgrims. There are forty inhabitants in the monastery. Workers and monks. Everyone has a story behind them. Everyone has their own way to God.
Someone came here "by faith", realizing this step as a personal choice, someone brought "sorrow" and the tragic circumstances of life – imprisonment, dependence, loss of loved ones, lack of housing, work and the inability to find themselves in secular life.
Some come in "Fercolo" for a few months, someone's been living here years and received monastic tonsure.
The monastery, founded around 1635 on the site of the relics of St. Artemius, accepts all. This story is about people whose life path is not easy, about those who know firsthand what is need, gratitude and Faith.

I had a great honor to touch, at least through the lens, such quantities as Bella Akhmadulina, Mikhail Ulyanov, Mikhail Kalashnikov, Igor Moiseev... I tried to catch their glow in the negative and transmit it through the photo, so that I could be happy myself and so that others could be in this Light." The exhibition presents 50 black and white photographs from different series: "Constellation of Russia", "Artists of Lithuania", "Masters of Lithuanian jazz", "Faces of art. Lithuania", "Lithuanian Theatergoers".
To the works of Aleksandravicius should not be treated as a documentary displaying the model. The subconscious begins to whisper to us from the shadows. The light comes into contact with the infinite. This is the miracle of portraits of Algimantas of Aleksandravicius.

RUINS OF THE FUTURE. Ruins Of The Future
Svyatoslav Ponomarev (Moscow)
June 29 from 23:00 Tolstoy street, 7.
Facade Of art space VCCA
"Ruins of the future" is a multimedia installation of the musician and artist Svyatoslav Ponomarev, which involves six projections and sound, creating the effect of the presence of the viewer in the disappeared forever shops of the Moscow plant ZIL. The work immerses the viewer in the crumbling before the eyes of the majestic industrial era, postulating a complete change of worldview paradigms. "Death created time to grow the crops and then kill you."
The author recreates in the film the atmosphere of the decadent plant ZIL; ― zone abandoned and destroyed at the moment a huge production, previously providing work for tens of thousands of people.
There was nothing left in it ― it stopped at the point of absolute zero movement, covered with a thick layer of "lunar" dust.
